Abstract
This short report, prepared for the Appearance Collective (a group of charities working in the field of appearance and visible difference), offers a brief insight into health and appearance research pertaining to culture and ethnicity. Its objectives are to:
1.Explore health among minority groups; commenting on health outcomes and reported experiences
2.Consider representation in and engagement with the charity sector, and explore how charities can increase diverse engagement
3.Detail research pertaining to the effectiveness of health-promoting interventions among minority groups
4.Review appearance research in this area, and consider evidence pertaining to the nuance of being a minority and ‘looking different’
