Abstract

Drawing on examples of creative non-fiction writing, this chapter seeks to capture and explore some illustrative experiences and reflections based on engagement in SUAW sessions. In doing so, it illuminates and provokes consideration of how and why such sessions may have transformative potential, focusing on the collective and creative possibilities they may harness. At the same time, the approach also embodies an aspect of SUAW’s role in my own narrative, in harnessing space, and confidence, for entangling creative and academic writing to create new possibilities for thinking and writing. The chapter concludes with some tips for maximising these elements in engagement with SUAW sessions.
