Abstract

Public Lecture in relation to The Journey out of Darkness exhibition at New Walk Museum, Leicester (31/10/09 - 3/05/10).

The author used the New Walk’s Expressionist Art exhibition as a starting point, tracing early forms of film exhibition in Germany towards the international ‘Art Film’ strategy of Erich Pommer, producer of The Cabinet of Dr Caligari (1920).
