Abstract

Having established a solid software and hardware protocol to perform microwave impedance spectroscopy of substances in the liquid state, we discuss some numerical and practical aspects of the key figures related to this technique, and highlight the potential features of a number of environmental samples of natural colloids and wastewaters, collected in several locations, including exhausted mines. The peculiar properties of some of the colloids characterised suggest that we could take advantage of the ions and nanoparticles in suspension and build some critical electronic components featuring computing capabilities. In the last section of this chapter, we also suggest how micro-fragments, including micro-meteorites, whose distribution is ubiquitous, and micrometric waste of various terrestrial nature, could be exploited as well.
