Director of Research and Enterprise (BLS)
This keynote speech starts by providing a definition of war crimes under the Statute of the International Criminal Court and then focuses on war crimes that can be deemed to be of an economic nature. The speech then moves on to examine the definition of economic crimes and, using that definition, explores whether war crimes of an economic nature can be classed as economic crimes. After arguing that many war crimes cannot be considered economic crimes, the speech explores the potential links between war crimes and economic crimes.
