This chapter identifies picture books as a useful tool to engage children in climate change and sustainable education, and encourages teachers to recognise hopeful pedagogies in their practice in order to navigate emotional responses to the climate emergency. I introduce ways in which to analyse picture books for use in teaching in this area and demonstrate how these might be used through a case study of a freely accessible e-book that explores drought in the UK.
