Abstract
This paper presents a comprehensive approach for migrating legacy monolithic systems to microservices architectures, focusing on adaptive synchronization techniques to streamline the process. Our proposed methodology enhances software systems’ scalability, maintainability, and flexibility while minimizing migration risks. Key recommendations and future research directions include: (1) further exploration of adaptive synchronisation techniques to improve efficiency and effectiveness, (2) expanding case studies and evaluations across various domains to validate generalisability and applicability, (3) integrating our migration methodology and synchronisation techniques with existing DevOps practices, and (4) developing tooling and automation to support the migration process and implementation of adaptive synchronization techniques, simplifying the transition for development teams and organizations.
