Abstract

This book will explore the advancements in nickel-base alloy systems for various engineering applications. The book will focus on specified topics related to gas turbine aero-engines, steam turbines, submarines, and nuclear and automotive applications. The attractive properties of Nickel, when mixed with other metallic or non-metallic additives, make it a highly desirable candidate for severe environments of high temperature and corrosion levels. Over the past years, various studies have explored the topic, however, the current book will identify the most recent advancements related to nickel-base materials development, testing, and modeling. Despite the fact that the use of nickel-base materials is not limited to the aforementioned topics, this book will primarily be focusing on these applications to make them usable, as a reference guide, for those involved in large power-based applications.
