Abstract

Abba examines the specific manners by which Ambient Literature is composed and experienced by a reader. Looking back to the canon of works produced under the project banner to date, and developing the Ambient Poetics proposed in 2016-18, he addresses work inside and outside of the core programme to demonstrate the ways in which immersive literature operates. The main body of the chapter explores writing Ambient Literature from the conception of a work to its reception. A forthcoming work - From Bitter Ground - is used to show how each of the poetic elements are employed in order to produce a genuinely affective narrative composition, native to the medium in which it is being written and read.
