Abstract

This study was funded by the Camden Trust and The MediaWise Trust. Many of its recommendations for reform of PCC procedures and the Editor's Code of Practice have subsequently been adopted, and influenced Ofcom Codes and procedures and those of the BBC Complaints Unit. On the basis of this research, MediaWise provided written and oral evidence to the Culture, Media & Sport Select Committee inquiry on self-regulation of the press, London, Feb & Mar 2007.
