Abstract

Adaptive Educatiooal Hypermedia (AEH) may be the answer to the imperative need of personalization in web-based education. Up to now, however, adaptive hypermedia environments have focussed more on end- deliveIY, and less on the authoring problems. This paper addresses the complex issue of creation and delivCl)' of personalized material by examining two aspects of existing AEHs: the authoring system of MOT, and the deliveIY system of WHURLE, with the aim of establishing a "write once, use many" methodology for the creation of content and adaptation within current AEH environments.
