Abstract
After couple of experiments on designing and fabricating differentiated moulds for casting purposes, this project has been developed as a 1:1 scale cellular concrete shell project, although its prototype has been realized only. The idea was to design differentiated cellular solids as compressive elements, all being attached together with tension cables stretching inside them. Cells have been fabricated through laser cutting of PVC sheets as disposable, low-cost moulds. They have been cast by lightweight concrete and assembled using a temporary structure. The program happened in collaboration with Mohamad Tavafzadeh, Ali Eslami and Hossein Panjehpoor, in a historical building in the city center of Isfahan (2014).
I worked on this project as part of the fabrication team.
