Additional Information | Additional Information : This study develops a sociocultural analysis of low rates of young participation in HE in an urban white working class area, and offers an empirically grounded framework for evaluating the impact of current and future policy interventions. The report has been welcomed by the Rt Hon Dawn Primarolo MP (Bristol South), HEFCE, OfSTED and the DfES and has been presented to a number of seminars including one called by the Minister of State for Lifelong Learning, Further and Higher Education. Raphael Reed has subsequently co-authored an analytic summary of parallel reports from three other cities, to be published by HEFCE. She has been invited to present her findings to the TLRP Diversities in HE seminar series. Outcomes have directly impacted on high level reform to regional provision and have influenced the development of WP practice in two universities. Raphael Reed is responsible for 90% of this publication. |
