Abstract
The Introductory Guide to Video Essays was officially launched on 14 December 2020 at an online event organised by Learning on Screen in collaboration with SOAS, University of London. The launch event brought together pioneering scholars and educators engaging with video essays as scholarly videographic works and creative assessment methods, who contributed to the guide and presented each of its sections.
The event was live streamed from the SOAS Film Society Facebook channel and attracted over 300 people from all over the world, including the UK, US, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, India, Mexico, Senegal, Spain, Sweden, and Turkey, among others.
