Additional Information Additional Information : Appearing in summer 2007, this is the core 'gateway' publication for the ESRC/TLRP project Transforming Learning Cultures in Further Education, the largest ever independent study of teaching and learning in the FE sector. James and Biesta are principal authors, incorporating material from the wider project team. The project concluded in 2005 and continues to have impact on policy and practice in the sector (from individual practitioners and colleges through to work with the DfES Standards Unit, keynotes for LLUK, the Institute for Learning and Scottish Further Education Unit, and a contribution to the Foster review). Professor Coffield's foreword speaks of the importance of the challenge the outcomes present to many officially accepted assumptions about good teaching and learning. James is lead author and responsible for at least 40% of this publication.
