Additional Information Additional Information : This chapter appears in a book edited by Harnett which presents a research-based analysis of key issues and policies within contemporary education, with a focus on the agency of children. The chapter offers an analysis of key primary policy texts from 1988 to the present. It indicates how successive polices interpreted the notion of a broad and balanced curriculum. The chapter draws upon case studies of primary schools to examine current interpretations of breadth and balance. Harnett was responsible for 80% of this chapter.
