Abstract

On Hadseløya, a Norwegian island inside the Arctic circle, a series of oil drums stand on the bank of a stream, filled with water that had been winding its way downstream into Hadselfjord. Each contains a wax sculpture. With viewing goggles provided, visitors are invited to hold their breath and plunge their faces into the underwater world, for as long as their lungs will allow.

Interactive installation with wax, water, oil barrels and fibre optic lighting.

Elvelangs Melbu 2018 for Nordland Akademi.
