Additional Information | Additional Information : The book is an internationally selling, co-authored, research based textbook of 404 pages (9000 copies sold at 01.05.07). A Second Edition is currently in preparation. It is widely cited, see for example: Morley, D (2007) Media, Modernity and Technology: The Geography of the New, Routledge, pp 240-243 and Kember, S (2005) Doing Technoscience as (New) Media' in J. Curran and D. Morley (eds) Media and Cultural Theory, Routledge. Giddings was invited to contribute to this book as a PhD student in the School of Cultural Studies, and his contribution was in part informed by his PhD reading of cultural and media studies' conceptual and methodological approaches to the domestic adoption of new media technologies. Giddings developed his sections autonomously, with sole-authorship of the �digital cinema' section of Part 2 (pp 136-158) and the whole of Part 4: New Media in Everyday Life (pp 219-286). |
