Abstract
This work was created using a hybrid of digital and traditional processes as part of a larger body of research work titled Immediately Intimate. This work looks at communicating changes in landscape through the use of traditional photo-mechanical printmaking and digital technologies. The printed artefact looks at demonstrating the experience of landscape through a dichotomy that acknowledges both the haptic and optical, digital and analogue, the physical experience of recording landscape and the process of responding through photographic and photo- mechanical practice.Through working in parallel with lithography, digital embroidery and paper waxing the finished piece was layered and demonstrates a complex array of techniques. This piece was awarded the prestigious Intaglio Printmakers Prize at the Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair Exhibition, London 2019
