Abstract
This piece was created in UWE using Laser cutting technology and relief printing on offset press. The work was created as part of a body of research that explores how the artist can communicate interruption in landscape through application of technical "glitches " or "disruptive" artefacts within the image. The digital preparation of the image involved applying and manipulating filters on Photoshop.
This image involved first applying a fine dot screen before laser cutting which allowed tone and detail to be achieve while maintaining the grain of the wood. The print was then further manipulated and disrupted on the press through creating unique masks that would hide part of the image and communicate absence within the landscape.
