Abstract
turn the page has, over a period of ten years (2012-2022), introduced the public to the wonders of the wider book arts genre, and artists and collectors to each other, through its showcasing events, symposia and related exhibitions. To celebrate those ten years, this essay will look at some of the ways in which artists' books can delight viewers/readers/handlers and book wranglers, with a particular focus on the kinds of handmade, one-off and materially accomplished bookworks that inspired Jules Allen to establish turn the page as a nationally anticipated book arts event.
