Abstract

At a time when financial regulation in the banking world is uncertain and strained books such as this is integral to the understanding, teaching and learning of the subject. This collection of works is an excellent example of how banking regulation has changed so dramatically and dynamically that to keep pace with it is an ever changing task. The authors all agree that from the understanding of banking being “too big too fail” we have now moved into a world where banks have become too complex, too interconnected and too global to fail. Financial crisis and the management thereof has changed irrevocably since the last financial crisis. To prevent future crisis would be impossible, but to ensure more effective management during a crisis is achievable and this book demonstrate the possible avenues that could be followed as well as depicting the present crisis and the lessons which could be learnt from them.
