Abstract

From the chapter - The chapter is structured to first touch on the extent of global health care inequality and then to provide a more detailed overview of the evidence for health care disparity in just one area, namely that experienced by racial and ethnic minority groups in the United States. It will then outline interventions in this area, particularly those targeted at health care professionals. Next it will outline how insights from RFT may add to our understanding of the possible roots of bias and prejudice. Then it will detail the attempts of ACT to influence such processes and highlight other potential applications of this framework.
