Abstract
This paper presented the interim findings from the Upstream project, funded by Wellcome. Upstream seeks to engage those working at strategic levels within urban planning, to determine barriers and facilitators to the more effective integration of health and wellbeing considerations in the planning process. The project includes interviews with key leaders in urban planning, comprehensive assessment of the literature relating to health and urban planning, and an economic modeling exercise. It was presented at the Inaugural Planetary Health Alliance Annual Meeting, Harvard Medical School, Boston.
