Abstract

Reflections 25.4.16 is an innovative cross-media storytelling project, focusing on Nepal in the year since the April 2015 earthquake. the project aims to bring together art, storytelling, photojournalism in a new format for talking about issues. It also aims to raise awareness of social issues, discuss solutions and encourage active engagement for positive change. we also want to promote and share art from talented nepali and international artists, and explore the roll their art can play in social issues.
To commemorate the one year passing of the April 25 earthquake we are launching reflections here in Nepal. the concept is to reflect on the year just gone, using the earthquake as a frame that brings all the stories together.
Reflections 25.4.16 is the brainchild of Marli Gordon, Bhuwan Rokka and Harry Morgan.
in the past 6 weeks, we have found, chosen and recorded 20 interview stories from across nepal, we decided to choose 10 nepali and 10 international artists, and paired up each one to a story in order to create an art piece that tells more of the story than words can alone.
On 25th April 2015 a 7.9 Earthquake struck Nepal, causing catastrophic damage affecting the lives of millions.
