Abstract

Evoking the magic of Britain’s oldest working theatre – a scale model of the Bristol Old Vic, complete with peepholes and projections. The piece plays on a one-hour loop, revealing the set-up, take-down and performance of four shows from the theatre’s 2015 autumn/winter season. It is designed to be accessible at any point in the narrative and to be experienced from different perspectives as long as the viewer chooses. Originally commissioned as an immersive installation for the RWA, Bristol’s Centre Stage Exhibition, Dec 2015 through Jan 2016. The piece was reworked and remounted for the October 2016 Windmill Hill Art Trail and displayed in the Bristol Centre Space Gallery in March 2017. Commissioned by the RWA and Bristol Old Vic with a bursary from UWE's Centre for Moving Image Research. Project managed by Dr Sarah Sparkes.
