Abstract
This chapter looks at the idea of Milieu Cultures as a tool and theoretical framework through which to examine and understand the culture of, in this example, Punk. The chapter looks at how using the framework of milieu cultures can help us understand the motivations, dispositions, ideas and outlook that are so important for people involved in the Punk milieu. By Punk Milieu I mean the whole of the community involved in Punk; musicians, fanzine writers, individual punks, artists, DIY label owners, promoters etc.
