@conference { , title = {Energy security and responses to climate change in Nigeria}, abstract = {This study examined energy security and the impact of climate change in Nigeria including the diverse policy and institutional strategies so far adopted by Nigerian government to mitigate its impact on the populace and environs. Using a content-driven analytical approach, this study employed in-depth exploration and analysis of secondary data for deriving understanding and meanings. In addressing the challenges facing the tackling of climate change and energy security in Nigeria, the study identified public sector inefficiency, corruption, inconsistency in government policy at state and national levels, lack of national priority and terrorism as some of the factors militating against sustainable development in Nigeria's energy sector.
